Room Occupancy settings are a specific feature designed exclusively for the online booking engine, enabling precise control over the maximum number of guests allowed in each room.
Purpose and Functionality:
Maximum Capacity Control: This feature allows you to define the absolute maximum number of individuals who can occupy a room, preventing overbooking and ensuring guest comfort.
Comprehensive Occupancy Definition: It goes beyond simply counting the number of beds. It incorporates:
Standard Occupancy: The base number of guests the room is designed to accommodate.
Extra Bed Capacity: The number of additional beds that can be placed in the room.
Adult Sharing: The policy regarding adults sharing existing beds.
Children Sharing: The policy regarding children sharing existing beds or using provided cribs/cots.
Preventing Overbooking: By setting clear occupancy limits, the system prevents bookings that exceed the room's physical capacity, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for all guests.
Accurate Online Display: The information that is input here is what is displayed to the customer during the online booking process.
Room Occupancy Templates (Online Booking Engine Only):
Important Note: Room Occupancy Templates, which are related to these settings, are also exclusively used within the online booking engine. If you are not actively managing or configuring the online booking engine, you can safely disregard this feature. It has no impact on other aspects of the hotel management system.
